PROGRAM HISTORY 3

In 2000, the Children's Program (Si Tu Puedes Leer, Tu Puedes Leer Más Rápido) was developed with the aid of a 12 year old secondary student, Ashley Johnson. Ashley assisted Dr Polmar to revise the One Hour Program, with added vocabulary, describing the psychology of education, to increase levels and speed of reading of children. Beginning in 2002, Dr. Polmar began writing of programs specially for use in Mexico. This included: The Gringo Guide to speaking Spanish, the Legends Reading Program, a Guide to English Slang, and English for Tourism careers in Hotels and Restaurants.

These books took the dedication of Mexican Educators of Jalisco to complete. The main program “the Legends Program” was created with the aid of Ana Rosa Gómez Padilla author of “Asi Es Mi Tierra”, a book of many legends of the Mexican State of Jalisco. With the help of Gerardo Tolentino, Teacher of English in San Juan Cosala, helping with many books, Dr Maky Erdely in the United States, teacher Mr. Hiram Bejar in Guadalajara, and also Cecilia González García in Estado de Mexico.

Our program for adolescents is called Speed Reading in One Hour, and Don Franciscós Guide to English Slangs, which includes many expressions of popular Slang. Our primary program for University students is called: Be Dynamic Through Speed Reading, a course of accelerated learning and study skills. We continue with a course in English for restaurants and hotels for the tourist industry of Latin America.

This aids Mexican students to become conscious of the difficulties that the English speaking has with the communication in Spanish. And also helping them to fulfill necessities in different areas of Tourism and, in the long term, to English speaking residents of Mexico (ex-patriots). Our English for the Tourist Industry (Restaurants and Hotels) takes the important situations of communication in this field, and it making it bilingual and easy to learn.

The expected results of our program: Reduction of students deserting school early, to work in the fields or doing other work with little potential. Less boys and men running to the United States and other places to find work that Americans themselves refuse to do.
